Was named to the first team of all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin squads as a senior after being on the second team as a junior... Team captain in 1997... Preseason All-American in College Football Preview magazine and honorable mention in Don Hansen's Football Gazette... Named "National Scholar-Athlete" in College Football Preview as a senior... He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Pierburg, Barrington.
