DAVID CALDWELL, Men's Basketball, Northbrook (Glenbrook North HS), Business Administration - Selected as the "Most Valuable Player" for the 1990-91 Titans and was chosen as the winner of the Fred Young "Most Outstanding Player" award in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin... Named to the first team of the National Association of Basketball Coached all-Midwest District squad and earned first team recognition on the CCIW all-star squad... Selected to the second team of the NCAA Division III All-America squad named by Don Hansen's Basketball Gazette and was named to the third team of the "Basketball Times" All-America squad... For the season, Caldwell topped the Titans with averages of 20.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game... Finished with a field goal percentage of 63.3 percent (226 of 357), a new school single-season record, eclipsing the old mark of 62.5 percent (190 of 304) set by Jeff Kuehl in 1989-90... For his career, Caldwell connected on 61.1 percent of his field goal tries (382 of 625), eclipsing the old career mark of 56.6 percent, set by Jeff Kuehl (628 of 1,098, 1986-90)... Season total of 543 points scored is the sixth highest single-season total in IWU history, and his career total of 933 points leaves him in 28th place on the IWU all-time list... For his career, Caldwell had 455 rebounds, making him the 19th leading rebounder in school history... Finished with 75 blocks in 26 games and shot a sparkling 88.2 percent from the free throw line (90 of 102)... Season single-season highs were 30 points against both Augustana and Wheaton, 17 rebounds against Elmhurst, eight blocks at Wheaton, and five assists vs. Florida Tech... Named "Player of the Week" in the CCIW and Division III National "Defensive Player of the Week" by Don Hansen's Basketball Gazette... Son of Richard and Carol Caldwell, Northbrook.
