CHRIS HUMBLES, Football and Men's Track & Field, Bloomington (HS), Psychology - Three-year letterman in both football and track... Served as co-captain for the 1992 track team... In football, he eas chosen to the first team of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin all-star squad and was chosen chosen as the team's "Best Back" for the 1991 season... Rushed for a school-record 273 yards in a win over North Park and was named CCIW "Player of the Week", as well as Regional "Player of the Week" in Don Hansen's Football Gazette... Finished 1991 season with 1,012 yards rushing, the second-highest total in IWU history, and his career total of 2,205 yards ranks him third in school history... In track, he was the CCIW champion in the shot put as a senior and as a junior after finishing second in the event in 1990... Holder of both the indoor and outdoor school record in the shot put, Chris also qualified for the NCAA Division III national meet in the shot put in 1991... Member of the Black Student Union and has served as a minority peer mentor and summer enrichment counselor on campus... Received an African_American Student-Athlete Award, has worked as a juvenile advocate for the McLean County Juvenile Division and for Catholic Social Services, and has been an instructor for the Normal Police Department's Drug Awareness Resistance Education program.
