Illinois Wesleyan senior Eric Gilbert, who transfered to IWU after a year at Loras, was the 2013 team's "Newcomer of the Year". As a junior he had game-winning goals at Webster and at Benedictine and as a sophomore he was once chosen as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin "Defensive Player of the Week".
Majoring in business (marketing) at Illinois Wesleyan, he is the son of Charles and Sandie Gilbert.
