Senior Ryan Dorner (Glenview, Ill., Glenbrook South HS) was the medalist of the 2010 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships and has played for three CCIW champions. He has had seven straight top 10 finishes this season and, as of April 20, a 74.1 average per 18 holes.
A business administration major, he is the son of Tim and Patti Dorner.

Why you chose Illinois Wesleyan: I visited IWU on a Sunday and had brunch at Saga, I thought it was pretty good.

IWU class you’re most qualified to teach: Probably a Fred Hoyt business class because I feel like I am becoming more and more like him every day.

Worst grade in a class you ever got – what and when? In high school chemistry class I got a C because I was more concerned with the digits that comprised the phone numbers of the cheerleaders that were in my class than the numbers that comprised the periodic table.

I’m deathly afraid of ... : Something happening to one of my sisters.

Worst habit: Not sleeping enough.

Most expensive traffic ticket: Let’s just say there is only one on my record and it was a speeding ticket for $75

Language I’d like to learn: Spanish, because I took three years in high school and three semesters in college and I’m still stuck on "Hola"

Your usual response to “What’s going on?”: “Just living the dream.”

Favorite sports figure: Pat Tillman

My greatest moment in sports was: The first time I beat my older sister at a 9-hole par 3 course. I remember being about 9 or 10 and just getting dominated by her, until one day I actually won. I think it was the first time I left the course wanting to come back again.

The best player I ever faced was: My teammate Stefan Johnson, the kid is sick nasty good.

Worst dresser on my team: We are a good-lookin, well-dressed team including Coach Ott thus that is impossible to answer.

Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Probably some jelly, because we are big fans of Peanut Butter Jelly Time at my place.

Person I’m dying to have dinner with: Either one of my sisters because we have all been away at school and haven’t had the chance to hang out.

Favorite food: Steak

Vegetable I won’t eat: Beets, those are just stupid

Pepsi or Coke?: No soda, it's bad for you

Favorite TV show: "Ghost Hunters"

Favorite musical group: Rascal Flatts

Favorite movie: "The Pursuit of Happyness"

If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: Bradley Cooper

The person in history I would most like to meet is: Jesus, I feel like I could come up with a few questions to ask him.

My dream job would be: Motivational speaker

Place I’d most like to live: Jeff Grodecki’s backyard

My possession that would fetch the most on eBay: Probably my putter, it has good vibes and people would pay huge amounts of money for that.

What I miss most about being in the third grade:
Being surrounded by peers that believed anything was truly possible.
