Eli Williams (Westville, Ill. HS) had 872 rushing yards in 2009, the eighth best total in a Titan single season, and his 1,273 all purpose yards is No. 6 in a Titan season. He had 177 yards vs. Hope in 2009, good for 16th best in an IWU single game.
Eli is one of 112 student-athletes across the nation, at all levels of college football, nominated for 2010 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and was also one of 103 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars Award winners in 2009-10.
A business management major at IWU, he is the son of Eli and Sue Williams.


Why you chose Illinois Wesleyan: Many people told me that it had a great combination of academic and athletic excellence so I believed them, also I wanted to continue playing football so I chose here over U of I.

IWU class you’re most qualified to teach: Social Psychology and Human Sexuality

Worst grade in a class you ever got – what and when? A “B” in a boring History class my freshman year before I learned how to study.

I’m deathly afraid of ... Going to Hell.

Worst habit: Not folding and putting my clothes away after I wash them.

Most expensive traffic ticket: A $120 speeding ticket, in Indiana.

Language I’d like to learn: Become completely fluent in Spanish.

Your usual response to “What’s going on?” Not too much, just got out of football practice.

Favorite sports figures: Muhammad Ali and Emmitt Smith

My greatest moment in sports was: Beating Wabash in double OT to go on to the second round of playoffs, and going to the state championship in HS my senior year.

The best player I ever faced was: Robert “Robo” Kreps

Worst dresser on my team: Brien Rooney (no style)

Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Dennis Zic’s 3 week old leftovers

Person I’m dying to have dinner with: Maggie Lanter

Favorite food: Pasta with lots of broccoli and chicken

Vegetable I won’t eat: I like them all..

Pepsi or Coke?: Gotta go with Pepsi, even though I don’t drink pop too often.

Favorite TV show: “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Fresh Prince”

Favorite musical group: Usher and Lil Wayne

Favorite movie: "Remember the Titans" and "Wedding Crashers"

If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: Denzel Washington

My dream job would be: Underwear model
