Senior Alessandra Bollero has played in three NCAA Division III national championships, tying for 49th in 2009, finishing 64th in 2008 and 56th in the 2007 national meet.
In her College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championship appearances she placed second in 2007, tied for 11th in 2008 and was 15th in 2009. She was an all-region selection in 2008.
Alessandra is a business marketing major from Palm Beach, Fla. and attended Cardinal Newman High School. She is the daughter of John and Kathie Bollero.


Why you chose Illinois Wesleyan: Coach Niepagen is very convincing, but it was a great decision

Worst grade in a class you ever got – what and when? C in physics my senior year of high school; I went into the final with an A.

My dream job would be: Travel journalist

Place I’d most like to live: Barcelona if abroad, Chicago if domestically

Language I’d like to learn: Italian

IWU class you’re most qualified to teach: A course about living frugally while studying abroad

I’m deathly afraid of ... : Heights! (I know it’s cliché, but it’s true).

Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Half-empty Gatorade bottles

Worst habit: Running late…I’m Italian.

People I’m dying to have dinner with: A reunion dinner with the students from the 2008 Madrid program.

Vegetable I won’t eat: Cauliflower

Favorite food: My mom’s homemade pasta sauce

Favorite TV show: Die-hard "Friends" fan, along with March Madness

Favorite musical group: The Beatles will always live on but I listen to every genre of music

Favorite movies: Titanic, On Golden Pond, A League of Their Own, Shawshank Redemption

If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: Goldie Hawn

The person in history I would most like to meet is: Pope John Paul II…he preached and lived forgiveness

Favorite sports figure(s): I wish I could say Tiger Woods, but I can’t. Adam Scott, Michael Jordan, Mark Madsen, and my brother.

My greatest moment in sports was: Winning the district championship in basketball my senior year against our rival, as well as competing for an IWU fourth place finish at the 2008 National Championships

The best player I ever faced was: Morgan Pressel in golf; Raquina Williams in basketball (plays for U of Miami)

Worst dresser on my team: We have the best-rated uniforms in all of DIII golf

My possession that would fetch the most on eBay: I have Alan Jefferson’s right shoe and it’s signed…and it’s HUGE.

What I miss most about being in the third grade: Times tables tests
