A chemistry major at IWU, Katie is the daughter of Thomas and Julie Rhoades.

Why you chose Illinois Wesleyan: It just felt like a good fit, plus I didn’t want to walk too far in the cold to class.

IWU class you’re most qualified to teach: Fitness walking. I’ve been practicing for 21 years.

The hardest challenge about being a Division III student-athlete is: Being a chemistry major with 4 hour labs multiple afternoons a week.

Worst grade in a class you ever got – what and when? I got a B in gen chem freshman year.

I’m deathly afraid of ... : Snakes. Even seeing one on TV makes my skin crawl!!!

Worst habit: I’m horrible at saving money. I like to shop…a lot.

Most expensive traffic ticket: I’ve never been pulled over ?.

Language I’d like to learn: Chinese or Japanese so I can hear what they’re saying when I get my nails done.

The longest I could survive without my cell phone: I could survive a long time; however my mother would go crazy not being able to call me all the time.

One word your mother or father would use to describe you: “Clumsy”, I am the most uncoordinated, clumsy person outside of sports. I trip over everything.

Favorite sports figures: Misty May and Kerri Walsh.

My greatest moment in sports was: Playing in the state volleyball tournament my junior year of high school and getting 4th in state!

The best player I ever faced was: There was a libero I played against in high school that made it almost impossible to get a kill; she dug everything up.

Worst dresser on my team: It used to be our assistant coach, Kristy Duncan, but we convinced her to stop shopping at Justice.

Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Food that Eryn Finet’s mom gave her last year that’s still in there…

Person I’m dying to have dinner with: U.S. men’s Olympic swimming team, they’re all beautiful.

Favorite food: Mexican or seafood.

Vegetable I won’t eat: Peas and brussels sprouts, it’s a texture thing.

Pepsi or Coke?: Coffee.

Favorite TV show: "Pretty Little Liars", "So You Think You Can Dance", and lots of trashy reality shows - they’re my guilty pleasure.

Favorite musical group: Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and Eric Church.

Favorite movie: "Sixteen Candles".

If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: Mila Kunis or Emma Stone.

If my life were on TV as a reality show, I’d call it: “True Life: I’m a Chem Major”.

The person in history I would most like to meet is: Audrey Hepburn, she seemed so classy.

My dream job would be: World renowned food critic; I’d get to travel and eat at all the best restaurants in the world for free.

Place I’d most like to live: California or South Carolina.

Two things that are tops on my “bucket list”: 1) Learn to surf and 2) Go skydiving over Chicago.

My possession that would fetch the most on eBay: My pillow pet, he’s adorable.

Who is the luckiest person in the world? Caroline Boyer, she’s married to Luke Bryan.

What I miss most about being in the third grade: My teacher.  She was a nun and had the driest sense of humor.
