Illinois Wesleyan senior infielder Gino Cavalieri (Western Springs, Ill., Fenwick HS) was the team's "Top Newcomer" award-winner as a freshman and followed that with being selected as one of three winners of the team's "Most Valuable Player" honors as a sophomore. In 2016 he batted .382 with 27 RBI and 23 extra-base hits and was named to second team of all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin baseball squads.
In 2017, he batted .311 with four doubles, one triple and six home runs. In addition he had 28 runs batted in and 34 runs scored.
Majoring in business (finance) at Illinois Wesleyan, he is the son of Robert and Gina Cavalieri.
