Recent Illinois Wesleyan graduate Tim Smith (Frankfort, Ill., Lincoln-Way East HS) was a four-year starter for the first four men's lacrosse varsity teams at the University.
Smith finished his career as the all-time leader in man-up goals (32) and tied for first in games played (69). He ranks No. 2 in points (228), goals (175), shots (493) and shots on goal (316). A marketing and economics major at Illinois Wesleyan, Tim will be starting work in marketing with the Chicago Bulls as a ticket sales representative. The son of Jeff and Jeana Smith, Tim's younger sister, Mariah, is an IWU women's lacrosse player and was a 2017 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association first team all-Great Lakes Region selection.
Why you chose to attend Illinois Wesleyan: I didn’t want my lacrosse career to end after high school, also the small class sizes never hurt.
IWU class you’re most qualified to teach: Probably none to be honest.
The hardest challenge about being a Division III student-athlete is: Finding the time to eat between class, practices, games and workouts. Spending my own money on buying new lacrosse sticks kinda stinks too.
Worst grade in a class you ever got – what and when? I got a C- in an anthropology class, after tutoring a classmate all semester. That classmate got a B.
I’m deathly afraid of ... : Airplane rides and heights
Worst habit: I have self proclaimed OCD. I need everything to be in its place, there’s nothing more stressful to me than a mess.
Most expensive traffic ticket: I have not yet got a traffic ticket, knock on wood.
Language I’d like to learn: I’d like to learn to speak fluently in French.
The longest I could survive without my cell phone: I could probably survive without my phone for a pretty decent amount of time.

Favorite sports figure: Michael Jordan (THE GOAT, sorry LeBron)
My greatest moment in sports was: Making it to the NCAA "sweet 16" this past season.
The best player I ever faced was: Eric Fannell, he played against us at Adrian College my freshman year and eventually transferred to The Ohio State University and was this past season's leading goal scorer and led them to the NCAA Division I national championship game.
Worst dresser on my team: Nick Winter, hands down. Boy stays lookin’ like a mannequin.
Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Nothing really sits in my fridge too long, I tend to eat a lot.
Person I’m dying to have dinner with: It would be cool to have dinner with deceased family members I had never met.
Favorite food: A Moe’s burrito, “Welcome to Moe’s!”
Vegetable I won’t eat: Raw carrots

Favorite musical group: I don’t really have a favorite musical group, but I am currently into Kendrick Lamar, and anything that’s got a good bass line to be honest.
