Shane Smith (Godfrey, Ill., Marquette HS), a 2012 Illinois Wesleyan graduate, placed fifth in both the 2011 and 2012 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin men's golf championships.
A 2012 third team PING Division III All-American, Smith finished 54th in the NCAA tournament, and he placed 26th in the 2011 NCAA championships, helping the Titans to a second place team finish. As a senior, he had a team-best 74.1 average and his season low round was 68 in the final round of the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational in October.
A marketing major at Illinois Wesleyan, Shane transfered to IWU after his sophomore year from Lewis and Clark Community College, where he was a junior college All-American golfer. He is the son of Darren and Janet Smith of Godfrey, Ill.
