Illinois Wesleyan senior defender Julie Govedarica (Chicago, St. Ignatius Prep) is the co-captain of the 2014 women's soccer team (with Brie Siebert). She was a first team all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selection as a junior and was chosen to the second team of the CCIW all-league squads as a sophomore.
A business major at Illinois Wesleyan, Julie is the daughter of Thomas Govedarica and the late Sheryl Govedarica.
Why you chose Illinois Wesleyan: It had a good academic reputation and pretty good women’s soccer program.

Worst habit: Cracking my knuckles.
Most expensive traffic ticket: Speeding down Main Street. I think it was around $75. It was karma for going to McDonalds during season.
Language I’d like to learn: Arabic.
The longest I could survive without my cell phone: A couple of days.
One word your father would use to describe you: Caring.
Favorite sports figure: Anthony Robles. One legged wrestler. Won a NCAA Division I national championship.
My greatest moment in sports was: Being able to make it to the NCAA tournament twice (hopefully three times).
The best player I ever faced was: Nicole Denenberg. I played with her in high school and she went on to play soccer at Illinois. She helped me become the player I am today.
Worst dresser on my team: Coach Barrett. He is a repeat groutfit offender (both green and gray).
Person I’m dying to have dinner with: Bill Murray.
Favorite food: Raw fish all day everyday.
Vegetable I won’t eat: Carrots. Yuck. I have perfectly fine vision without them.
Pepsi or Coke? Regular Coke. Not diet. I can tell the difference.
Favorite TV show: "Lost" when I am in a serious mood, but otherwise "South Park".
Favorite musical group: Classic Rock. The Stones, The Who, Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin.
Favorite movie: "Glory Road" or "The Breakfast Club".
If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: I have been told I look like Chloë Sevigny on multiple occasions. I don’t see it though.
If my life were on TV as a reality show, I’d call it: "The United States of Govedarica".
The person in history I would most like to meet is: Margaret Thatcher.
My dream job would be: ESPN commentator. It would be a dream come true to work alongside Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser.

My possession that would fetch the most on eBay: Realistically I would have to say my car. I have a mini wood bat that was signed by Paul Konerko and Mark Buehrle that I like to think is worth a lot.
Who is the luckiest person in the world? The Kardashians. They have somehow made themselves so relevant; when in all actuality they are so incredibly irrelevant.
What I miss most about being in the third grade: Having the time to do fun extracurriculars like gymnastics and basketball.
