Carmin Beck earned four cross country letters at Illinois Wesleyan and was the first woman from IWU to compete in two NCAA Division III championship meets (2012, 2013). She finished 116th (22:44.6) in 2013 and 217th in 2012 (23:38.0). In 2013 she was named USTFCCCA Division III All-Region as she placed fourth in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin conference meet (22:47) and was the team's low finisher in every event she ran.
In 2012 she placed seventh in CCIW meet with time of 22:55.
The daughter of Thomas and Kimeri Beck, Carmin majored in chemistry at Illinois Wesleyan and says that since graduation in May, "I am working at a summer camp this summer as the arts and crafts director and in the fall I am moving out West to get a job
."

Why you chose Illinois Wesleyan: I liked the importance IWU places on academics as well as the opportunity to run competitively in college

IWU class you’re most qualified to teach: General Chemistry

The hardest challenge about being a Division III student-athlete is: Teams not getting as much funding

Worst grade in a class you ever got – what and when? Organic chemistry and I had a very strained relationship second semester. I made it through but there were a few times I wasn't so sure I would

I’m deathly afraid of ... : Failure

Worst habit: I have lots of those, biting my nails is classic though, I have been trying to quit since I was 5

Most expensive traffic ticket: Haven't had one yet, knock on wood

Language I’d like to learn: German or Latin

The longest I could survive without my cell phone: A week probably easily but after that it would get harder

One word your mother or father would use to describe you: Helpful (occasionally)

Favorite sports figure: Michael Jordan, I love how hard he had to work and the pay off that came his way when he did

My greatest moment in sports was: My regional race senior year

The best player I ever faced was: Christy Cazzola from Wisconsin-Oshkosh

Worst dresser on my team: Haha I would never judge that, it very well could be me

Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Baking soda to keep it fresh, I don't replace it often enough

Person I’m dying to have dinner with: I am not good at these type of questions

Favorite food: Blueberry pancake pie

Vegetable I won’t eat: Vegetables are great

Pepsi or Coke? Coke

Favorite TV show: "Psych", "Game of Thrones", or "Friends"

Favorite musical group: Twenty One Pilots

Favorite movie: "Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back"

If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: Hmmm, I don't know

If my life were on TV as a reality show, I’d call it: I don't know this one either
