Illinois Wesleyan senior John Worley was named to the 2013 Division III All-American team chosen by the American Football Coaches Association and was a first team all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin choice. In the 2014 preseason, he has been a Division III first team All-American in both the Sporting News College Football Magazine and the Lindys College Football National Edition magazine and was rated No. 20 among defensive ends on the website NFL Draft Diamonds, which provides a ranking of seniors in anticipation of the 2015 NFL draft. The 19 players ranked ahead of Worley come from Division I programs. He was also preseason All-American on the 26th annual USA College Football Preseason teams.
Majoring in business finance at Illinois Wesleyan, he is the son of Mike and Darcy Worley.

Why you chose Illinois Wesleyan: The fat and slow quad squirrels really sold my dog and me.

IWU class you’re most qualified to teach: Easy - Dance Appreciation.

The hardest challenge about being a Division III student-athlete is: Fending off all the jersey chasers, the boosters trying to give me cars, and the all of the agents trying to sign me.

Worst grade in a class you ever got – what and when?  I got a D in honors chemistry my sophomore year of high school.  Pretty much thought that eliminated me from going to college at the time.  (Thanks IWU)

I’m deathly afraid of ... : My roommate Niall’s knee brace.

Worst habit: Eating when I’m bored…and eating when I’m not bored.

Most expensive traffic ticket: Speeding is for cowards.

Language I’d like to learn: Russian, because as of right now all I can say in Russian is “You have no friends” which isn’t very helpful.

The longest I could survive without my cell phone:  Until I had to go to the bathroom next.

One word your mother or father would use to describe you: I think in this case the old saying “If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything at all” truly applies.

Favorite sports figure: Lawrence Taylor

My greatest moment in sports was: Watching Jeff Jerome force the game-winning fumble against Wheaton.  It had to be the best play of his life!

The best player I ever faced was: Never actually played him, but I hear pre-ACL tear Brad Bullington was quite the player.

Worst dresser on my team: Probably Cam McGwynn.

Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: We have two bananas that have sat in our freezer for over a year.  Who freezes bananas?  Apparently Garret Laflamme does.

Person I’m dying to have dinner with: Stephanie Manikas.  Thank you for teeing it up for me to get some easy brownie points.

Favorite food: Crab legs.

Vegetable I won’t eat: I’m willing to try anything twice.

Pepsi or Coke? They’re the same thing.  Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Favorite TV show: "Workaholics".

Favorite musical group: Portugal. The Man

Favorite movie: "Forrest Gump".

If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: The Rock, because we have similar biceps.

If my life were on TV as a reality show, I’d call it: They actually already made it into a TV show.  It’s on the Discovery Channel called “Naked and Afraid”.

The person in history I would most like to meet is: Ernest Hemingway sounds like a good time.

My dream job would be: Beggars can’t be choosers.

Place I’d most like to live: Chicago.

Two things that are tops on my “bucket list”: Visit every continent and find a nice young lady for Niall Mulcahy.

My possession that would fetch the most on eBay: Probably one of my kidneys.

Who is the luckiest person in the world? Yours truly.

What I miss most about being in the third grade: Pokémon and Dragon Ball Z.
