Senior cross country captain Lorin Biosca (Wheeling, Ill., Buffalo Grove HS) placed 14th in the 2010 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships with a time of 23:21.3 and finished 48th (of 263 runners) in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional with a time of 22:50.2.
Named as the team's "Best Newcomer" in 2008, she will also be a co-captain for the 2011 IWU women's track team.
A psychology major at Illinois Wesleyan, Lorin is the daughter of Joe Biosca and Debbie Biosca.


Why you chose Illinois Wesleyan: I basically lucked into it by slacking on the college search and only applying to one other school. It turned out wonderfully though.

IWU class you’re most qualified to teach: Probably social psychology, I live for social norms.

Worst grade in a class you ever got – what and when? Human Bio my sophomore year.

I’m deathly afraid of ... : I’m not afraid of anything.

Worst habit: Procrastinating

Most expensive traffic ticket: $25 parking ticket

Language I’d like to learn: I wish I was better at Spanish and then maybe learn some French.

Your usual response to “What’s going on?”: “Not much, you?” or sometimes when I’m not pay attention, “Good, you?”

Favorite sports figure(s): I’ll admit I’m a fair-weather fan. I’ve always loved Scottie Pippen though. And Devin Hester is pretty cool. Represent Chi Town

My greatest moment in sports was: Dropping 7 seconds off my 1500 m time at the last chance meet last spring.

The best player I ever faced was: About 15 really fast Division I teams in the 4xmile at Drake Relays last year

Worst dresser on my team: Most likely me.

Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Mayonnaise

Person I’m dying to have dinner with: Elliot Aronson seems like a pretty neat guy.

Favorite food: Turkey sub sandwiches or cheese ravioli

Vegetable I won’t eat: Mashed potatoes

Pepsi or Coke?: Wild Cherry Pepsi f’sho

Favorite TV show: "Modern Family"

Favorite musical group: Changes all the time but I always listen to Mayday Parade and Lady Antebellum

Favorite movie: "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" and "Love Actually"

If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: Meryl Streep, keepin it classy.

The person in history I would most like to meet is: Good Ol’ Abe Lincoln

My dream job would be: Running professionally

Place I’d most like to live: I like the suburbs.

My possession that would fetch the most on eBay: My car

What I miss most about being in the third grade: That real life, after you’re finally done with school, was so far away.
