Illinois Wesleyan senior Tyler Brown heads into her final volleyball season ranked No. 7 in career kills (1,309), No. 8 in digs (1,392) and No. 12 in attack percentage (.263).
She has been chosen to the first team of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American squads for the past two seasons after earning honorable mention as a freshman.
She was a first team all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selection as a sophomore and junior and was second team as a freshman. Brown was selected as AVCA Division III national "Freshman of the Year" and was also the "Freshman of the Year" in the Midwest Region and in the CCIW.
An accounting major at Illinois Wesleyan, she is the daughter of Brian and IWU head volleyball coach Kim Nelson-Brown. Her uncle (Erik Nelson) played football at IWU and her aunt (Kelly Nelson) played softball for the Titans.


Why you chose to attend Illinois Wesleyan: Definitely not because of the volleyball coach but everything else was pretty neat

Most expensive traffic ticket: $125 for speeding in town…my dad’s a cop
 
Language I’d like to learn: I’ve taken four years but still Spanish
 
The longest I could survive without my cell phone: Probably a week
 
One word your mother or father would use to describe you:  My mom said “sweet” and my dad didn’t answer…thanks dad
 
Favorite sports figure: Kerri Walsh
 
My greatest moment in sports was: Serving the ball underneath the net against North Park sophomore year
 
The best player I ever faced was: Molly Haggerty from Wisconsin
 
Worst dresser on my team: Leah Seielstad
 
Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Kyleigh Block’s hot dogs that she left at our house
 
Person I’m dying to have dinner with: Alyssa Cholewinski
 
Favorite food: Watermelon

Pepsi or Coke? Iced coffee from Dunkin'

If my life were on TV as a reality show, I’d call it: "The Embarrassing Life of Tyler (a girl)"
 
The person in history I would most like to meet is: My great-grandparents
 
My dream job would be: Giving boat tours on the Amalfi Coast
 
Place I’d most like to live: On a lake
 
If you come back in another life, what would you like to return as: A sea otter because they always look like they’re having the time of their lives
 
Two things that are tops on my “bucket list”: 1) Have Leah Seielstad tell me I’m funny and 2) travel to Thailand
 
My possession that would fetch the most on eBay: My club penguin membership giftcard
 
Who is the luckiest person in the world? Chris Harrison from "The Bachelor", he just gets to make money traveling the world
 
What I miss most about being in the third grade: Coloring in class for a grade
