Illinois Wesleyan senior men's swimmer Morgan Bishop (Bloomington, Ill., Normal Community HS) has earned three letters (2015, 2016, 2017) and was the team's "Most Improved Performer" as a freshman.
He has career-best times of 25.22 in the 50 yard backstroke, 53.85 in the 100 yard backstroke, 1:57.98 in the 200 yard backstroke, 1:59.78 in the 200 yard individual medley,
and 4:14.62 in the 400 yard individual medley.
Majoring in physics (pre-engineering) at Illinois Wesleyan, he is the son of John and Rebecca Bishop.

Why you chose to attend Illinois Wesleyan: Being close to home was a plus but all in all the coaching staff for the swim team won me over.

IWU class you’re most qualified to teach: Introductory swimming…though given my ability to nap, perhaps I should teach a class on napping when your schedule allows.

The hardest challenge about being a Division III student-athlete is: The balancing act. If my personal balance was as good as my ability to balance out my life I would be able to be a world class tightrope walker.

Worst grade in a class you ever got – what and when? Analysis 2 second semester freshman year.

I’m deathly afraid of ... : Being alone

Worst habit: Biting my nails

Most expensive traffic ticket: Does a parking ticket that my roommate got me for parking in the faculty lot count?

Language I’d like to learn: Latin

The longest I could survive without my cell phone: A while.

One word your mother or father would use to describe you: Intense

Favorite sports figure: Matt Grievers. Though Nathan Adrian is a close second purely for how fantastic he is able to look right after getting out of the pool.

My greatest moment in sports was: Freshman year CCIW championship

The best player I ever faced was: Jake Miller

Worst dresser on my team: Jordan Miller

Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Not sure. That’s a scary thought. Typically things don’t last long but I do remember seeing a sandwich that I’d seen in there for quite a while.

Person I’m dying to have dinner with: John Oliver

Favorite food: Steak

Vegetable I won’t eat: Cooked spinach

Pepsi or Coke? I don’t drink soda

Favorite TV show: “Game of Thrones”

Favorite musical group: How do I pick a favorite? Though the air band that some of us made on the swim team is pretty great.

Favorite movie: “Gladiator”

If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: Joseph Gordon Levitt

If my life were on TV as a reality show, I’d call it: “Living Like it’s the Holidays All Year Long”

The person in history I would most like to meet is: George Washington

My dream job would be: Developing renewable energy technology and making it even more efficient

Place I’d most like to live: Colorado

If you come back in another life, what would you like to return as: a hawk

Two things that are tops on my “bucket list”: Visit every state in the US and visit Germany

My possession that would fetch the most on eBay: I have quite a few action figures from my childhood that I bet at least some are worth something

Who is the luckiest person in the world? Tommy Gilbert. He’s gotten to see me almost every day for the past 5+ years.

What I miss most about being in the third grade: The simplicity of everything. What I would give to have color by number for homework again.
