CCIW Releases Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Coaches Poll

Titans picked to finish third

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - For the second consecutive season, the Illinois Wesleyan women's lacrosse team was chosen to finish third in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Preseason Coaches Poll, announced by the league Thursday, Feb. 5. Illinois Wesleyan recorded 13 points in the poll.

Carroll is the favorite to claim the crown for the second straight season after winning the CCIW regular season and tournament championship last year. The Pioneers reeled in 25 points and five first-place votes. Carthage is second with 21 points, and is the recipient of the other first-place nod. 

Following IWU is North Central (12) and Augustana (12), which are tied for fourth. With six points, Elmhurst rounds out the poll. 

The Green and White return two-time First Team All-CCIW honoree Sarah Riepe. Sadie Newton and Maddie Gibson also return after earning Second Team All-CCIW honors last season. 

The Titans will begin their 2026 season with three straight home games, beginning with Illinois Institute of Technology Saturday, Feb. 21. Action is set for 11 a.m. inside Tucci Stadium.
