SPARKS GLENCOE, Md. - Concluding a stellar career for the Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team, senior Mia Fiandaca (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles North) became the first Titan to earn All-American honors. Fiandaca was named to the USA Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention team, announced by the organization Wednesday, May 14.

Fiandaca adds the accolade to her decorated career donning the Green and White, as she also earned Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Second Team All-Region honors and was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Year to go along with a sport on the All-CCIW First Team for the second time in her career.

Fiandaca was twice named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week this season, finishing her career with six defensive weekly awards, and was IWU's first All-Region honoree since 2021. The senior broke the single-season program record for caused turnovers, totaling 58 over 12 games, a program-best average of 4.83 per game. She also broke the single season record for ground balls per game with an average of 3.92, as she led the Green and White with 47 ground balls this season. A threat on both sides of the field, Fiandaca finished with the team lead in goals (36) and points (28), and her average of three goals per game is the second-best season average all-time.

Continuing on her record-breaking year, Fiandaca rewrote the book with single-game records of ground balls with 10 at Illinois Tech (Feb. 26) and 12 caused turnovers against Edgewood (March 1). The St. Charles, Ill. native ranks top-10 in program history in multiple categories, including establishing new program career records for goals per game (2.68) and caused turnovers per game (2.32).

Fiandaca was one of two CCIW student-athletes on the list, as Carroll's Grace Tumilty was also cited as an honorable mention.
