Hubbard Chosen to Compete in 2023 IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse defender Jennie Hubbard (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles East) was selected to play in the 2023 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game the organization announced Thursday, June 1. Hubbard will compete as a member of the Division III's South Team on Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters.

Hubbard concluded her career at Illinois Wesleyan last month, culminating in First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors. She was third on the team in caused turnovers with 17, and fourth with 27 ground balls. Her 45 career caused turnovers ranks sixth-most in program history, and her 0.88 caused turnovers per game is the eighth-best average all-time.

Hubbard also earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors this season, has twice been named Academic All-CCIW, and earned CCIW Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career this season, May 2.

Competing as a member of the South Team, Hubbard will be coached by Katie Wertman from Haverford College. She will get to play alongside members from Haverford, Roanoke College, Shenandoah University, University of Mary Washington, Christopher Newport University, Widener University, York College of PA, Aurora University, Saint Mary's College of Notre Dame, Washington College, Messiah University, University of Lynchburg, Western New England University, Stockton University, Franklin and Marshall College, Transylvania University, and Ursinus College. Hubbard is the lone player from the CCIW.

The Division III All-Star contest will be the second leg of a tripleheader, as the Division II game will kick off the day at 10 a.m. ET. The Division I All-Star Game is set to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET, and will conclude the day of festivities.
