PEWAUKEE, Wis. – The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team ran away with the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship Saturday, Oct. 8, earning the program's 17th league title. The 15th-ranked Titans fired a final 305 to win the championship, and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship, with a three-day score of 925 at the par-72, 5772-yard Naga Waukee War Memorial Golf Course.

Junior Lexi Onsrud (Normal, Ill.-University High) earned medalist honors and was named the recipient of the conference's Elite 26 award, an honor bestowed upon the all-conference golfer with the highest GPA. It marks the second consecutive season in which Onsrud has reeled in the league's accolade for her 4.00 grade point average. Additionally, senior Megan Moody (Gibson City, Ill.-Gibson City/Melvin Sibley) was named IWU's recipient of the CCIW RESPECT award and Patrick Freeman was voted the CCIW's Coach of the Year.

In all, six Titans garnered All-CCIW honors as Onsrud, junior Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb), and sophomores Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony), Jacque O'Neill (Harbor Springs, Mich.-Harbor Springs), and Jadyn Spinks (Bloomington, Ill.-University High), and junior Rachel Ducaji (Springfield, Ill.-Sacred Heart-Griffin) all posted top-10 finishes.

Onsrud turned in a final round 76 to finish 10-over, 227 for the tournament as the medalist. It is the fifth win of Onsrud's career and gave IWU its first individual champion since Jordan Koehler in 2016.

Behind Onsrud, Thorman and Ludwig wrapped up a 1-2-3 finish for the Green and White. Illinois Wesleyan, the only team in conference history to accomplish the feat, last swept the top-three spots in 2012 (Rose Kelly, Brittany Levens, Katie Klosterman). Thorman came through with the best round of the day, shooting two-over 74, to finish right behind Onsrud at 230. Ludwig carded a four-over 76 to claim third-place.

O'Neill tied for sixth at 242, while Spinks placed ninth (246). Ducaji rounded out a dominating performance by the Titans, as she placed 10th with a 54-hole total of 247.

Illinois Wesleyan topped the team standings by a 45-stroke cushion, the largest margin of victory in the conference tournament since 2012 (80 - Illinois Wesleyan 1018, Carthage 1098).

With the conference championship complete, and the NCAA berth secured, Illinois Wesleyan will wrap up its fall schedule at the Golfweek Invitational Sunday-Tuesday, Oct. 16-18, at Sandestin Golf Resort.
