Women’s Golf Readies for WashU Spring Invite

Titans one of three ranked teams in the field

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The No. 23 Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf heads south after a weekend off for the WashU Spring Invite Sunday-Monday, March 29-30. The 36-hole tournament will be contested at the par-72, 5,816-yard Crown Point Golf Course in Farmington, Mo.

Sophomore Gigi Zera (Glenview, Ill.-Loyola Academy) is fresh off of her first career win at the SMSU Classic last weekend, March 16-17. Zera posted career-bests in both single round and 36-hole total in her victory, carding an even-par 70 in the first round, and finishing with a two-day total of five-over, 145. Zera boasts the best average on the team so far this season, with a 76.2 stroke average to her name.

Juniors Emily Gastrau (Wauwatosa, Wis.-Wauwatosa East) and Nora Cerroni (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha North) have the second-best season averages, both boasting a 77.5 stroke average throughout the 2025-26 campaign.

IWU will be one of three ranked teams in the field that includes No. 5 WashU, No. 20 Grinnell, Aurora, Dubuque, Macalester, Millikin, North Central, Saint Mary's, Trine, UW-Stout, UW-Eau Claire, and Wartburg.

Zera, Gastrau, and Cerroni, along with sophomore Grace Fagan (Kirkwood, Mo.-Visitation Academy) and freshman Julia Henry (Homewood, Ill.-Homewood-Flossmoor) will make up the Titans 'A' squad. The 'B' squad will consist of senior Brooke Erhard (Champaign, Ill.-St. Thomas More) sophomores Breanna Brown (South Barrington, Ill.-Barrington) and Caroline Carr (Frankfort, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East), and freshmen Addison Krouse (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) and Ashley Wells (Champaign, Ill.-St. Thomas More).

Tee times will begin at 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 29 from Crown Point Golf Course. Live results will be provided through the Scoreboard, powered by Clippd, and can be found here.
