NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. -- The Illinois Wesleyan men's golf team won the school's eighth all-time NCAA Division III national team championship, taking a three-shot victory in the 42-team 2019 NCAA Division III Championships at the Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky., on Friday, May 17.
The solo leader after the first two days of the tourney and tied for the lead after the third day, Illinois Wesleyan had a final-day score of 6-over par 294 and finished with a team score of 22-over par 1174 (287-291-302-294). Huntingdon had a 9-over 297 to also end the tournament at 25-over par 1177 and Guilford College finished in third at 1181.
Senior
Drew Pershing, who earned All-American status with his top 10 finish, tied for ninth in the championships, turning in a final day round of 1-under 71 to finish with a 294 total (70-73-80-71) on the par 72, 7190-yard Champion Trace course.

Sam Goldenring, playing as an individual for Williams College, was the tournament medalist with a 3-under total of 285, two shots better than Huntingdon's Drew Mathers at 215.
