Track and Field Travels to Greenville Select

Six Titans lead the CCIW in individual events

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams travel Greenville, Ill. this weekend Saturday, April 11 for the Greenville Select. A small group of Titans will also appear in the UW-Platteville Invitational Friday, April 10. 

Six Titans lead the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin in their respective events, while junior Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) currently leads Division III in the women's triple jump. With a leap of 12.43m at the Redbird Challenge March 27, Ogunribido again leads the national outdoor ranks. 

In the league listings, sophomore Jacob Pinkston (Tinley Park, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) and junior Mackenzie Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) lead the CCIW in the men's and women's 800m. Pinkston ran his fastest time at the Redbird Challenge, March 27, crossing the finish line in 1:56.03. Huber's best time of 2:13.92 this outdoor season, which currently ranks fifth in program history, came at the WashU Distance Carnival March 26. 

Senior Abby Quinn (Chicago, Ill.-Marist) holds the conference lead in the women's 5000m following a career-best time of 18:26.46 at the WashU Distance Carnival March 26. Freshman Corrina Fassino (Peoria, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) nearly inched onto the program's all-time top-10 list in the 400m hurdles following her recent performance of 1:07.51 at the Huntsman Family Invite April 4. 

In field events, senior Gavin Gonzalez (Mattoon, Ill.-Mattoon) leads the league in the men's javelin with a throw of 54.17m. The marks ranks fifth on the program's all-time top-10 list.
