Track and Field Wraps Up WashU Distance Carnival

Three Titans record career-bests on day two

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams wrapped up action at the WashU Distance Carnival Friday, March 27 from Bushyhead Track in St. Louis, Mo., with three Titans recording career-best times in the 5000m. 

Senior Abby Quinn (Chicago, Ill.-Marist) posted a personal-best time of 18:26.46 in the women's 5000m, finishing in 49th-place. Five Titans ran in the men's edition of the 5000m, as senior Seth Hamerski (Mount Vernon, Ill.-Webber) led the Green and White with a time of 15:32.52. Fellow senior Zach Marquardt (Minneapolis, Minn.-Washburn) and sophomore Carson Davis (Mt. Zion, Ill.-Mt. Zion) each recorded career-bests in the event, finishing with times of 15:34.57 and 15:47.11, respectively. 

Illinois Wesleyan returns for two meets tomorrow Saturday, March 28, in Normal, Ill., for the Redbird Challenge and Decatur, Ill., for the Big Blue Alumni Invite. Links to follow the action can be found on the track and field page of iwusports.com.
