USTFCCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS - U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region honorees were announced Tuesday, May 19 with 16 student-athletes on the Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams earning all-region status.

The top-eight individuals in each event from each region earned the distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-eight relay teams. Illinois Wesleyan is in the Midwest region, which is one of the most competitive in Division III.

Junior Mackenzie Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) is set to make her first outdoor national championship appearance, as she ranks No. 7 in the stacked Midwest region in the women's 800m. Huber adds her first outdoor all-region honor to her resume. Senior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) ranks second in the Midwest region in the 3000m steeplechase. It is just Crabtree's second outdoor all-region award, adding to her accolade earned in 2023 in the event.

Narrowly missing the national championship cut, freshman Gwendolyn Boettinger (Palos Park, Ill.-Stagg) ranks sixth in the region with a season-best jump of 1.66m. The triple jumpers, junior Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) and freshman Tori Brown (Glasford, Ill.-Illini Bluffs) are ranked first and fourth in the region, respectively, as they will appear at the national championship this weekend. It marks Ogunribido's seventh overall all-region honor and Brown's second.

Senior Taylor French (Romeoville, Ill.-Plainfield East) earns her first career track and field all-region honor as she prepares for her first national championship appearance. French has a season-best throw of 42.08m in the women's javelin this season.

On the men's side, senior Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) is atop the Midwest region in the men's 400m. Lowder's season-best time of 46.99 has him ranked sixth in the country as he collects his 10th career all-region accolade.

Sophomore Jacob Pinkston (Tinley Park, Ill.-Lincoln Way-East) won both the indoor and outdoor College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin titles in the men's 800m, as he earned his first outdoor all-region honor. Pinkston's season-best time of 1:52.62 is the fourth-best in program history.

Program record holder in the men's pole vault, senior Isaac Whitaker (Bloomington, Ill.-Central Catholic) earns the first all-region honor of his career. The reigning CCIW Outdoor Champion, Whitaker cleared a program-best height of 4.81m en route to victory. Junior Carson Green (Centralia, Ill.-Centralia) was named all-region in men's long jump, the first of his career in the event. Green has the seventh-best jump in the Midwest region this season at 6.90m.

Senior Gavin Gonzalez (Mattoon, Ill.-Mattoon) ranks second in the region in javelin and No. 25 in Division III. He holds the program record with a season-best throw of 60.87m to earn the first all-region honor of his career.

The men's 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay each earn all-region status. The sprint relay squad of Green, junior Cole Marshall (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet-Seymour), sophomore Nyamedze Maison (Groveland, Ill.-Morton), and freshman Cameron Rask (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) rank eighth-best in the region. The 4x400m squad consisting of Lowder, Green, sophomore Alex Maas (Heyworth, Ill.-Heyworth), and freshman Dylan Hodges (Sycamore, Ill.-Sycamore) earned all-region status after posting the fourth-fastest time in the region.
