Men’s Golf Ranked Sixth in Latest Poll

Titans open spring season March 20-22

NORMAN, Okla. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team came in at No. 6 in the latest Golf Coaches Association of America Bushnell/Golfweek DIII Coaches Poll, released by the organization Friday morning, March 6.

The Titans, who have yet to play in the spring campaign, look to build momentum after a strong fall season. The Green and White boast three players in the top-50 of the latest Clippd Division III Player Rankings, as senior Aidan Healy (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West) ranks No. 16 in the nation, posting a scoring average of 72.5 in 11 rounds this fall. Sophomore Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) is No. 34 in the country, while fellow sophomore Joey Sluzas (Lockport, Ill.-Lockport) is No. 50. 

Huntington continues to top the poll, receiving all 17 first-place votes and 425 points. Emory (406) and Carnegie Mellon (378) stayed steady at No. 2 and 3, respectively. Washington and Lee (357) jumped four spots into the fourth position and Mary Hardin-Baylor (346) rounded out the top-five.
