Men’s Golf Jets to Georgia for Jekyll Island Invitational

Titans one of 15 ranked teams in the field

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The No. 6 Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team returns for its spring season this weekend, Friday-Sunday, March 20-22, for the annual Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational in Jekyll Island, Ga. The 54-hole tournament will be contested at the par-72, 6,730-yard Pine Lakes Golf Course. 

Senior Myles Lahart (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) and sophomore Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) played in the most rounds during the fall season for the Green and White, each carding 13. Lahart posted a scoring average of 73.2 with two top-five finishes and was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Golfer of the Week Sept. 17, 2025. 

Castro tied the program's lowest single round relative to par at the NCAA Division III Preview Sept. 23, 2025, carding an eight-under par, 64. Castro boasted a scoring average of 72.9 in the fall season. Senior Aidan Healy (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West), a two-time CCIW Golfer of the Week honoree during the fall season, led the Titans with a 72.5 scoring average over 11 rounds. 

Fifteen of the top-25 nationally ranked teams are featured in the field, including No. 1 Huntingdon, No. 2 Emory, No. 3 Carnegie Mellon, No. 4 Washington and Lee, No. 7 Oglethorpe, No. 8 Sewanee, No. 9 Methodist, No. 11 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, No. 12 Rochester, No. 13 Southwestern (Texas), No. 16 Kenyon, No. 19 Piedmont, No. 20 Transylvania, and No. 25 Berry. Amherst, Babson, Christopher Newport, Greensboro, Guilford, Hampden-Sydney, LaGrange, Lynchburg, NYU, Pomona-Pitzer, Randolph-Macon, Redlands, Rhodes, Roanoke, and Shenandoah round out the field.

Seniors Juney Bai (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central) and Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central), along with Healy, Lahart, and Castro will compete for the Illinois Wesleyan squad this weekend.

Freshmen Ryan Andrews (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) and Jared Code (Calgary, Alberta, Canada-Ernest Manning), along with sophomore Joey Sluzas (Lockport, Ill.-Lockport), will compete in the Jekyll Island Individual Tournament at the par-72, 6,650-yard Indian Mound Golf Course.
