Women’s Wrestling Prepares for QC D3 Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's wrestling team heads to the Quad Cities for the QC D3 Invitational hosted by Augustana College, Saturday Feb. 7, and Sunday Feb. 8. 

The Titans are coming off their first home dual meet win in program history when they defeated Eureka College, 32-6. Freshman Jillian Giller (Wilmette, Ill.-New Trier) earned a quick pin over Randi Campee, her 10th of the season. Freshman Kennedy Murray (Evanston, Ill.-Evanston) also got off the mat in rapid fashion, with a technical fall over Jaylah Campbell. At 180 pounds, sophomore Sifa Feruzi (Denver, Colo.-Macomb) led 6-0 at the end of the first period against Madison Farris, ultimately winning on an 8-4 decision. The Titans (4-10) also logged wins from freshmen Leslie Guzman (Fort Worth, Texas.-South Hills), Simone Dyer (Chicago, Ill.-Whitney M. Young), Alila Beck (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington), and sophomore Alivia Davey (Ripon, Wis.-Berlin) via forfeit.

Last season at the QC D3 Invitational, Feruzi went 2-2 that included a technical fall over Argelis Hernandez Perez of Dubuque, and a pin over Eureka's Alex Parks.
