Davey and Hill Place at QC D3 Invite

Davey earned fourth place, Hill finished in fifth

ROCK ISLAND, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's wrestling team had two wrestlers place at the QC D3 Invitational, hosted by Augustana College, Sunday, Feb. 8.

At 207 pounds, sophomore Alivia Davey (Ripon, Wis.-Berlin) finished in fourth place. She resumed action in the third round of the consolation bracket with a pin in 1:32 over Aurora's Hannah McDuffie. She followed with a 6-0 pin over Lakeland's Niyasia McCampbell in 3:39. Freshman Angel Hill (San Diego, Calif.-Mira Mesa) defeated Manchester's Isabel Anaya via a 14-6 decision to earn fifth place.

Freshman Kennedy Murray (Evanston, Ill.-Evanston) also earned a day two win. She opened her day with a 12-1 technical fall over Luther College's Kelsey Knief in the third round of the consolation bracket at 160 pounds.

In two weeks, the Titans begin the inaugural NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships in the regional Friday-Saturday, Feb. 20-21 in Tiffin, Ohio.
