BALTIMORE, Md. - Senior defenseman Billy McHugh (Orland Park, Ill.-Mount Carmel) of the Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team, was named to the Nike Lacrosse Preseason All-American list, announced by the Inside Lacrosse organization Friday, Feb. 6. McHugh represented the Titans on the list, as he was an honorable mention.

It is the first preseason honor for the senior, who was a United States Intercollegiate All-American Honorable Mention a season ago. Appearing in 13 games during the 2025 season, McHugh finished tied for second on the team with 22 caused turnovers. He added 10 goals and three assists for 13 points, and scooped up 40 ground balls.

The CCIW saw representation from three individuals, as McHugh was joined on the honorable mention team by Eli Spence and Tony Vazquez from Elmhurst.

Illinois Wesleyan officially kicks off the 2026 season Friday night, Feb. 13, as the Titans host Colorado College. Action is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. inside Tucci Stadium.
