BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team will see a familiar face on its sideline for the upcoming season, as Ike Eastburn will be the Titan's assistant coach, announced by head coach Zach Iannucci Monday, Aug. 18. Eastburn began his coaching duties at the beginning of the month.
"Ike is going to be a great addition to our coaching staff," Iannucci stated. "He always had a great feel and understanding of the game, all of our film sessions and discussions over the years, proving that his IQ is on another level. He was a player coach his last year, really helping out with the offense and guiding the younger players. What I am most excited about having him on staff is the person that he is. Lacrosse IQ matters, but it's who he is that matters most because he is a great coach, and an even better person. Ike has made me a better coach and person since being a part of our program and I am looking forward to having him coach alongside of me, hopefully for years to come."
A key component of the IWU offense the last three seasons, Eastburn made an immediate impact for the Green and White after transferring prior to the 2023 season. A three-year letterwinner for the Titans at attack, Eastburn finished his career ranked third in program history in goals per game, as he averaged 2.24 per contest. The Colorado Springs, Colo. native also ranks top-10 in the record book in goals scored (137), and man-up goals (17), both of which rank eighth.
A Second Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honoree in the 2025 season, Eastburn helped Illinois Wesleyan to three straight CCIW Regular Season and Tournament Championships, as well as three NCAA Tournament appearances, in his time at IWU. This past season he led the Titans with 52 goals, and finished second on the team with 54 points. Eastburn appeared in 50 games, making 44 starts, in his time donning the Green and White, and finished with 146 points, 61 ground balls, and 13 caused turnovers. Over his three years, Eastburn helped the Titans compile an impressive 43-11 overall record, and a perfect 15-0 mark in conference action.
