BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's bowling teams begin their respective seasons, Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 10-11 at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout in Indianapolis. The bowlers will hit the lanes at 10 a.m. ET Saturday and 9 a.m. ET Sunday from Western Bowl.

The tournament will host 77 teams, 47 men's programs, and 30 women's squads, with a format of six traditional games Saturday and 16 Baker games Sunday.

The men's program embarks on its first competitive season with Bob Baker at the helm. Baker brought in seven freshmen in his first recruiting class along with junior transfer Michael Robinson (Morton, Ill.-Morton) as the lone upperclassmen.

The women's squad brings back its top talent and a strong recruiting from second year head coach Gary Robinson. The seventh season of Titan women's bowling will see Gigi Sanchez (Zion, Ill.-Zion-Benton) and Ari Gamble (Moline, Ill.-Moline) return from a year ago. The improved squad from last season added freshmen Alyssa Barry (Abingdon, Ill.-Abingdon-Avon), Annalyse Johnson (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Hersey), and Morgan Robinson (Morton, Ill.-Morton).

The two programs are scheduled for their season openers at 10 a.m. Saturday from Western Bowl in Indianapolis. Coverage of the tournament can be found on iwusports.com.
