BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's bowling team will partake in the second College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament of the year, Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 28-March 1, hosted by Aurora University. Action is set for 10 a.m. from Aurora, Ill.

Illinois Wesleyan will meet up with the six other CCIW teams for the second conference tournament of the year. The first came in early November with Carroll finishing at the top. IWU finished seventh and looks to shoot up the leaderboard in a season that has seen much improvement from this year's all-freshman squad.

Among those who have improved, the most over the season is freshman Gigi Sanchez (Zion, Ill.-Zion-Benton). Sanchez crushed her former career-best last time out at the Hoosier Classic. In the fifth and final frame of the traditional format, Sanchez rolled a new career-high 181 and coupled it with 142. More improvement showed as freshman Ari Gamble (Moline, Ill.-Moline) captured a career best of 130.

The tournament format will take place in traditional format, as all seven teams will face each other at least once over the weekend. The two-day event will hold four matches Saturday and two the ensuing day. Overall records for the tournament will determine the standings and eventually crown a champion.

First roll of the tournament will be released at 10 a.m. Results will be posted to the women's bowling schedule page following the conclusion of the tournament.
