CCIW Releases Women’s Bowling Preseason Poll

Titans begin action Saturday, Oct. 10

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin released its annual women's bowling coaches' preseason poll Thursday, Oct. 1. The Illinois Wesleyan University women's bowling team was slotted seventh with six points.

Two stalwarts of the conference in women's bowling, Carroll and Marian, each garnered 30+ points, as CU edged out MC with 35 points and five first-place votes. Marian collected 32 points and received two first-place votes and four seconds. 

Augustana and Carthage followed in a battle for third and fourth but Augie finished with 24 points and six third-place votes to sit third. Carthage's 22 points, and two second-place votes, was good for fourth. Aurora and Elmhurst tied for fifth with 14 points, respectively, sitting just ahead of IWU.

This season marks the seventh year of the Titan women's bowling program and the second under the leadership of Gary Robinson. Robinson brings back his top talent from last season in sophomores Gigi Sanchez (Zion, Ill.-Zion-Benton), and Ari Gamble (Moline, Ill.-Moline). The freshman recruiting class consists of Alysa Barry (Abingdon, Ill.-Abingdon-Avon), Analyse Johnson (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Hersey), and Morgan Robinson (Morton, Ill.-Morton).

The Green and White begins its season, Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 10-11, at the Columbia 300 Shootout in Indianapolis, Ind.
