AURORA, Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's bowling program concluded its season at the second College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament of the year, Saturday-Sunday, Feb.28-March 1 in Aurora, Ill.

The Titans kicked off Saturday with three baker matches against Carthage, Elmhurst, and Augustana. In the opening match against CC, IWU dropped all five games totaling a pinfall of 449. Illinois Wesleyan rolled its best score in match two against EU. Elmhurst clipped the Green and White with a pinfall of 838 but the Titans rallied to knock down a first day-best 478. IWU concluded Saturday with a 442 pinfall in a loss to Augustana.

When the lanes opened on Sunday, the teams partook in three games of traditional play. A season of development paid off for the Titans as they recorded two personal-bests. En route to her second top-20 finish, freshman Gigi Sanchez (Zion, Ill.-Zion-Benton) finished 10 pins shy of her first 200 game, recording a new best 190 in game two. Freshman Cherish Moore (Chicago, Ill.-Muchin) scored a career-high with a total of 137. The Green and White combined for its best game in the first outing with a pinfall of 582. Scores of 567 and 553 closed out the tournament for a total pinfall of 1702.

After two days of competition, the top-four teams secured spots in the CCIW Championships later this month. Marion, Carroll, Augustana, and Carthage advanced, earning the opportunity to compete for the conference title.

After failing to place in the top-four, Illinois Wesleyan's season comes to an end, marking the first year of competition under head coach Gary Robinson.
