BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's wrestling team (2-6) returns to action at the NWCA National Dual Meet hosted by the University of Northern Iowa, Friday-Saturday, Jan. 9-10. IWU's opening round bout with Eastern University will begin at 10 a.m. at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The Green and White most recently competed at the North Central Invite, Dec. 14. IWU registered three wins on the day including a ranked win for sophomore Alivia Davey (Ripon, Wis.-Berlin) over Aaliyah Grandberry of Grand Valley State via a 2-2 decision. Davey went 2-2 on the day to lead IWU.
Sophomore Faith Comas (Cicero, Ill.-J. Sterling Morton East) joined Davey in the win column with a 6-2 decision over Linnea Britton of Grand Valley State at 131 pounds. The Titans won their last dual meet, 25-5, Tuesday Dec. 2 over MSOE.
Following the North Central Invite, two Titans were ranked in the National Wrestling Coaches Association's latest regional rankings released Dec. 19, 2025. Freshman Kennedy Murray (Evanston, Ill.-Evanston) earned her second regional ranking of the season after being ranked fourth in Region IV at 145 pounds. Fellow freshman
AJ Grant (Chicago, Ill.-Phoenix Stem Military Academy) is currently ranked fourth in Region IV at 160 pounds.
This will be the third dual meet for Eastern University (2-0), which is in its first season of varsity competition. On Dec. 6, the Eagles finished in fifth place at the New Standard York Invitational, scoring 90.5 points. Their most recent dual was at the TCNJ Tri, Nov. 8 where they registered victories over York (PA) and Delaware Valley.
In the second round of action, scheduled for Friday afternoon, the Titans will take on either No. 13 Wartburg or Albion. The Knights are the top seed in the Division III bracket after finishing seventh in last year's event and 22nd at last year's national meet. Albion sits at 5-5 on the season.
