CEDAR FALLS, Iowa  - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's wrestling team (2-8) wrapped up day one competition at the NWCA National Duals, Friday, Jan 9. The Titans fell to Eastern University, 36-13 and Albion College, 25-17.

Against the Eagles (3-0), the Titans picked up wins via forfeit from sophomores Faith Comas (Cicero, Ill.-J. Sterling Morton East) and Alivia Davey (Ripon, Wis.-Berlin), at 131 and 207 pounds respectively.

In its consolation bout against Albion (6-6), the Green and White took an early 5-0 lead when freshman Leslie Guzman (Fort Worth, Texas.-South Hills) won via forfeit at 103 pounds. Later in the bout, freshman Kennedy Murray (Evanston, Ill.-Evanston) earned her seventh pin of the season when she defeated Naomi Grummet in 35 seconds at 145 pounds. Fellow freshman AJ Grant (Chicago, Ill.-Phoenix Stem Military Academy) followed at 160 pounds with a win via a 12-1 technical fall against Paris Ford to slice the margin down to 20-14. At 207 pounds, freshman Angel Hill (San Diego, Calif.-Mira Mesa) concluded the dual with a 5-4 decision over Brynn Campbell.

The Titans are back in action at the NWCA National Duals tomorrow morning against Marymount.
