BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - With the conclusion of the 2024-25 Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team's season, head coach Sam Totten announced the team award recipients, as well as letterwinners.

Junior Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) was named the team's Most Valuable Player for the third straight season after continuing to command the top singles and doubles spot. A three-time Second Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honoree, Turnbull appeared in all 18 dual matches and two tournaments for the Green and White this season while serving as a co-captain. The Bloomington, Ill. native finished with a record of 10-13 in singles action, and an 11-13 mark in doubles play.

Also a co-captain, junior Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo-Phillips Exeter Academy) was named the team's CCIW Tournament MVP. Vigneri played alongside Turnbull in the No. 1 doubles spot for the majority of the season, and the duo was up 4-3 in the CCIW Quarterfinal contest against Carthage College when the match was abandoned. In the No. 2 singles spot in the match, Vigneri dropped his first set, 6-3, and was looking to make a comeback when the match was decided at 4-0 in favor of the Firebirds.

Sophomore Thad Dillow (Effingham, Ill.-Effingham) was the recipient of the team's Most Improved Player award after appearing in all 18 dual matches and one tournament. Playing primarily in the No. 4 singles spot, Dillow finished with an overall record of 8-13 in individual contests. The Effingham, Ill. native held down the No. 2 doubles, playing the majority of his matches with partner Ryan McCoy. Dillow totaled a 5-16 record in paired play throughout the season.
