NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams took advantage of a beautiful 60-degree spring day as the Titans produced eight new program top-10 marks and posted 17 top-three finishes at Illinois State University's The Normal Invite Saturday, April 12.

First-place finishes on day two came from senior Ernie Waterson (Bloomington, Ill.-Cornerstone Christian Academy) in the men's 800m in 1:53.22 and the 4-by-400m relay quartet of sophomores Carson Green (Centralia, Ill.-Centralia) and Reece Dusek (Peoria, Ill.-Dunlap), junior Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community), and senior Alex Harvey (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg). The relay clocked the fastest time in the field of 3:15.56 – a mark that sits fourth-best in IWU laurels. Waterson's 800m time ranks 29th in Division III this season.

The freshman trio of Jack Thomas (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community), Carson Davis (Mt. Zion, Ill.-Mt. Zion), and Martin Howley (Naperville, Ill.-Metea Valley) swept the top-three spots in the men's 5,000m, finishing 1-2-3, respectively (16:09.13, 16:17.90, 17:35.54).

Lowder, Harvey, and Green each turned in third-place finishes in individual events. Lowder clocked a 47.70 in the men's 400m while Harvey crossed the finish line in 58.09 in the 400m hurdles, and Green had a 6.53m (21'5.50") leap in the men's long jump. Lowder currently sits 13th across Division III in the 400m.

Freshman Alex Reinhart (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) posted a second-place finish in the women's 800m, clocking a time of 2:13.64, a mark that ranks third in program history and 20th in Division III, while sophomore teammate Mackenzie Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) cracked the program's all-time list at No. 10 with a time of 2:17.20. Huber finished fourth in the event in her collegiate debut.

Seniors Caitlin McCane (Bloomington, Ill.-Tri-Valley) and Lauren Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) finished second (36.43m, 119'6") and third (35.93m, 117'10"), respectively, in the women's javelin throw.

Freshman Kamden Reynolds (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) had a third-place finish in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 15.35 seconds. The freshman is the first to move into IWU's all-time list in the event since 2015 as he slides into the No. 10 spot.

Other third-place finishes in individual events came from sophomore Matt Lindberg (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) in the men's high jump (1.95m, 6'4.75") and sophomore Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) in the women's triple jump (11.63m, 38'2"). The men's 4-by-100m relay of junior Joe Freedman (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville), freshman Nyamedze Maison (Groveland, Ill.-Morton), and sophomores Cole Marshall (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet Seymour) and Muhammad Freeman (Effingham, Ill.-Effingham) finished third and sits eighth in IWU's top-10 list with a time of 42.09 seconds.
