BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams closed out their home meet schedule Friday, Feb. 21 as the Titans hosted Millikin University and Heartland Community College for the Friday Night Tri. IWU claimed 12 first-place finishes in the meet.

A total of nine Titans made moves in IWU's top-10 lists. Sophomore Reece Dusek (Peoria, Ill.-Dunlap) and junior Joe Freedman (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) both landed spots in the program's all-time list in the 60-meter as Dusek clocked a 7.06 in the preliminary round to take the sixth spot in IWU laurels while Freedman's 7.08 is just behind in the No. 7 spot. Dusek also joined the top-10 list in the 200m dash with his winning time of 22.83, good for 10th in program history.

The men's long jump saw a pair of IWU top-10 marks in sophomore Carson Green (Centralia, Ill.-Centralia) and freshman Nick Walker (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora). Green's 6.75m (22'1.75") jump earned him a second-place finish in the meet and ranks seventh all-time for the Green and White while Walker's 6.71m (22'0.75") was just behind in third for the evening and sits tied for ninth in program history.

Moving up on the all-time list was senior Alex Harvey (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) who turned in a personal-best effort of 8.47 in the 60m hurdles. Harvey's time finished second in the meet and ranks eighth in program history.

Senior Carlyssa King (Decatur, Ill.-Maroa-Forsyth) came away with a pair of event wins in the women's weight throw (17.32m, 56'10") and the shot put (11.76m, 38'7") while also bettering her mark in the shot put to rank seventh in Titan history. Sophomore Lauryn Moore (Bolingbrook, Ill.-Bolingbrook), who finished third in the event, threw an 11.40m (37'5") mark to sit ninth in IWU laurels.

Senior Evelyn Wilson (Geneseo, Ill.-Geneseo) had a breakthrough in the women's high jump as she hit 1.60m (5'3") for the first time in her career to rank eighth in program history and finished as runner-up in tonight's contest. Senior Emma McGrath (Oak Lawn, Ill.-Oak Lawn) won the women's mile with a personal-best of 5:12.29, a time that just cracks the all-time list at No. 10.

Illinois Wesleyan shifts its focus to the CCIW Championships next week in Kenosha, Wis. Carthage College will serve as meet host for the two-day event, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 28-Mar. 1.
