NORMAL & DECATUR, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams wrapped up a three-meet weekend at the Big Blue Alumni Invite and Redbird Challenge Saturday, March 28. Four Titans claimed wins at their respective meets. 

Freshman Mallory Short (Lincoln, Ill.-Lincoln) recorded a career-best time in the women's 400m at the largely Division I Redbird Challenge. Short crossed the finish line in 57.84. Junior Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) continued her women's triple jump dominance, winning the event at the Redbird Challenge. Ogunribido leaped a season-best 12.43m on her first jump of the day to secure an event win. 

In Decatur, Ill. at the Big Blue Alumni Invite, sophomore Alex Maas (Heyworth, Ill.-Heyworth) claimed a victory in career-best fashion in the men's 400m. Finishing in a time of 50.38, Maas topped the 40-man field. The Titans swept the women's triple jump as sophomore Sarah Polley (Evanston, Ill.-Evanston Township) claimed victory at Millikin. Leaping a season-best 10.46m, Polley became the second Titan of the day to win the women's triple jump.

Senior Gavin Gonzalez recorded a third-place finish in the men's javelin, across town at the Redbird Challenge. He tossed a throw of 54.17m. 

The men's and women's track and field teams will open the month of April, Friday-Saturday, April 3-4 in Crawfordsville, Ind, at the Huntsman Family Invitational, hosted by Wabash College.
