Eight Titans Garner USTFCCCA Academic Honors

Second-most selections in the CCIW

NEW ORLEANS - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's track and field program earned United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors, Monday, July 20 as the organization announced its annual awards. Eight student-athletes were named USTFCCCA All-Academic.

Reaping the award for the Green and White were freshmen Gwendolyn Boettinger (Hickory Hills, Ill.-Stagg) and Mallory Short (Lincoln, Ill.-Lincoln) along with juniors Mackenzie Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East), Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park), and Peyton Stinger (Wonder Lake, Ill.-McHenry Community) as well as seniors Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High), Bella Gonzalez (Itasca, Ill.-Lake Park) and Jordynn Griffin (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community). Crabtree earned the honor for the fourth straight season, while Huber, Gonzalez, and Griffin claimed the award for the second time.

In order to be eligible for the All-Academic Team award, programs must have a 3.1 grade point average or higher. Led by head coach Amelia Marino, the IWU women's track and field program posted a 3.53 cumulative GPA to earn the team award for the fourth consecutive year.

Student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 while competing in an NCAA indoor or outdoor championship during the 2025 season, be one of the top 50 individuals in their respective events, or be a member of a top-35 relay team.

Boettinger started out her Titan career on the right foot, racking up athletic awards all season long. Participating in the high jump, Boettinger logged a career best leap of 1.66m at the Thursday Night Twilight, April 23, 2026. She earned College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin First-Year Student-Athlete of the Meet along with CCIW Field Athlete of the Week Jan. 22, 2026. The physical education major landed on the All-CCIW team with second place finish during indoor season and a third place finish with a 1.54m jump at outdoor conference. She was named a USTFCCCA All-Region member in both indoor and outdoor high jump.

Short finished her first year as a Titan with a strong indoor season, with a pair of All-CCIW performances in the 400m and was part of the conference champion 4x400m relay team. She also accumulated USTFCCCA All-Region honors. At the end of her rookie campaign, the kinesiology and allied health major recorded career bests of 25.88 in the 200m and 57.84 in the 400m.

Huber earned College Sports Communicators All-District honors and corralled her first career CSC Academic All-America honor in her second season of collegiate competition. During a career year, Huber took the indoor season by storm, earning All-CCIW honors in both the indoor and outdoor seasons and finished fourth at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in the 800m. With the finish, the elementary education major secured All-American honors with both the NCAA and USTFCCCA as well as All-Region in the indoor 4x400, distance medley relay, and the 800m. She competed in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships and claimed CCIW Track Athlete of the Week Feb. 18.

The two-time NCAA Division III Outdoor Triple Jump National Champion Ogunribido was the first Titan to repeat since Rachel Anderson did so in 2006 & 2007. Ogunribido earned USTFCCCA and NCAA First Team All-America status after a third-place finish at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. She holds the program and CCIW record in the indoor triple jump with a leap of 12.63m at IWU's Friday Night Tri. Her jump ranks eighth best in Division III history. She earned CCIW Field Student-Athlete of the Week honors three times this season and earned All-CCIW honors in the 60m while also winning the conference long jump title. She accumulated all-conference recognition again during the outdoor season for her performance, finishing second in the 100m, fourth in long jump, and first in triple jump. Earning her degree in psychology, she raked in USTFCCCA All-Region status in both long jump and triple jump.

Stinger earned her USTFCCCA academic honor after running a leg in the Distance Medley Relay to earn all-region status. In conference, the DMR finished with a time of 12:18.77 to win the conference title and All-CCIW recognition. She secured indoor bests of 29.08 in the 200m as well as a 1:04.18 in the 400m. Stinger earned an 11th-place finish in the 800m at the CCIW Indoor Championships.

Crabtree ran to one of the best seasons in Titan history, finishing third in the 3000m steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. In her final race donning the Green and White, she ran a personal-best and CCIW all-time record time of 10:18.82. She was named a USTFCCCA Second Team All-American in the 3000m steeplechase. The environmental science major qualified for the Indoor and Outdoor Tack & Field national championships. She was named a two-time CSC Academic All-American, this year earning a spot on the first team. Her dominant season included being named the CCIW Indoor and Outdoor Track Student-Athlete of the Meet, earning five combined first-place finishes between indoor and outdoor season. Crabtree was named CCIW Track Athlete of the Week three times this season, garnering the award four times in her storied career.

Gonzalez, a member of the USTFCCCA All-Region 4x400 team, finished a stellar Titan career with her first career CCIW Championship. She set a new career best with a 26.17 time in the 200m April 23, 2026. Her 400m time of 1:08.41 was good enough for all-conference honors and eighth at the CCIW Outdoor Championships.

Griffin closed her Titan career with a USTFCCCA All-Region honor in both the 4x400m and DMR, winning both CCIW Championships. She ended as a four-time All-CCIW member competing in the DMR, 400m, and 4x400m. Her all-conference recognition came in both indoor and outdoor seasons finishing second in the 4x400m and 10th in the 400m.
