Back-To-Back: Ogunribido Crowned Triple Jump National Champion

Lowder earns third outdoor First Team All-American award

LA CROSSE, Wis. - Junior Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) earned her second consecutive women's triple jump national championship at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship Saturday, May 23. She is the second Titan in program history to win back-to-back national championships.

Ogunribido battled with Centre's Serena McNeilly for the win. McNeilly posted a best mark of 12.79m as Ogunribido had one attempt remaining. The Hanover Park, Ill. native saved her best jump of the season for last, leaping 12.83m to take her second consecutive national title. 

Ogunribido is the first Titan since Rachel Anderson won the indoor 400m in 2006 and 2007 to win back-to-back national championships. The junior is also the third women's triple jumper in Division III history to earn consecutive national titles.

Senior Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) finished his Titan career as a First Team All-American. Lowder came in eighth-place in the men's 400m, crossing the finish line in a time of 47.11. The senior ends his career with six All-American honors to his name in the indoor and outdoor 400m.

Senior Taylor French (Romeoville, Ill.-Plainfield East) concluded her career as a Second Team All-American in the women's javelin. In her inaugural appearance at the track and field national championships, French threw 41.97m to finish 12th and earn All-American honors. 

Freshman Tori Brown (Glasford, Ill.-Illini Bluffs) finished 19th in the women's triple jump in her inaugural appearance at the national event. Brown recorded a mark of 11.35m.

With the addition of Crabtree's third-place finish in the 3000m, the women's squad finished with 16 points and in a tie for 18th-place out of 72 teams.
