Women’s Bowling Wraps Up CCIW Tournament #1 at Carroll

Titans place seventh in season-opening event

WAUKESHA, Wis.- The Illinois Wesleyan University women's bowling team completed its first tournament of the year, Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 22-23, finishing in seventh place at the first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament of the season, hosted by Carroll University. It marks the first competition under head coach Gary Robinson, who took over the program in October. 

The young Green and White squad tallied a two-day pinfall of 4,546, participating in both Traditional and Baker formats. Illinois Wesleyan bowled an average of 177.7 over the two-days

On Saturday, Nov. 22, the Titans smashed down 1672 pins with their best performance coming against Carthage College, finishing with a score of 446. IWU also logged scores of 419 and 423 in the Traditional format. 

The tournament transitioned to the Baker format Sunday, Nov. 23 where Illinois Wesleyan knocked down the rest of its 2,874 pins. Its best match score finished at 480, also tallying scores of 377 and 345. 

IWU is off until the New Year and returns to action at the Kegel Collegiate Classic in Addison, Ill. Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 17-18.
