Men’s Golf Travels to Wabash Invite

Fifty-four-hole tournament to be played at Broadmoor Country Club

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The eighth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team gets back into action this week, Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 6-7 at the Wabash Invite. Thirty-six holes will be contested Monday at the 6,904-yard, par-72 Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis, Ind., before the final 18-holes Tuesday.

The Titans are coming off of a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Division III Preview Sunday-Monday, Sept. 21-23, at Mission Inn Resort + Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., the site of the 2026 Division III National Championship. After landing in 22nd-place following the opening round, the Green and White mounted a comeback with rounds of 282 and 278 in the second and third rounds to vault themselves into a top-five finish. Sophomore Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) tied the program record with an eight-under round of 64 in the final-18 to capture a sixth-place finish at the prestigious event.

IWU will take two teams to the event. Illinois Wesleyan 'A' will consist of Castro, seniors Myles Lahart (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South), Aidan Healy (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West), and Juney Bai (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central), and freshman Jared Code (Calgary, Alberta, Canada-Ernest Manning). Senior Michael Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill.-Hinsdale Central), sophomore Joey Sluzas (Lockport, Ill.-Lockport), along with freshman Ryan Andrews (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville), Ben Gelven (St. Louis, Mo.-Mary Institute and Country Day School), and Kevin Schuh (Glenview, Ill.-Glenbrook South) will make up the Titans 'B' squad.

No. 8 Illinois Wesleyan will be one of 15 teams in the field, including No. 2 Carnegie Mellon, No. 6 Emory, No. 10 Kenyon, Anderson, DePauw, Denison, Hanover, Hope, Millikin, North Central, Ohio Wesleyan, Wabash, Webster, and Wooster.

Monday's 36-hole day will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Live scoring for the event will be provided through Clippd and can be found here.
