Healy Earns CCIW Golfer of the Week

First weekly honor of his career

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf senior Aidan Healy (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West) was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday, Sept. 24. It is the first weekly honor of his career, and second week-in-a-row that a Titan has claimed the award.

Healy was Illinois Wesleyan's top finisher at the Wrigglesworth Blugold Invite, hosted by UW-Eau Claire, Sunday-Monday, Sept. 14-15 at the 6,855-yard, par-71 Eau Claire Country Club. Healy recorded a 36-hole score of 144, which tied his career-best, beginning with an opening round, one-under, 70. After battling closely for the individual title over the final 18 holes, Healy ultimately claimed runner-up honors with a final round, one-over, 72, marking the highest finish of his career. Healy led the Titans 'B' squad to a runner-up finish, as the Illinois Wesleyan 'A' team took the tournament title.

IWU gets back in action at the Wabash Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 6-7, at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis, Ind.
