Men’s Golf Wraps Up at Wabash Invite

Healy claims second top-five finish of season

INDIANAPOLIS - The eighth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team climbed into third-place in the final round of the Wabash Invite at the 6,904-yard, par-72 Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis Tuesday, Oct. 7. The Titans fired a final round six-under, 282, to climb into a top-three finish, while the 'B' team placed fourth.

Senior Aidan Healy (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West) claimed his second top-five finish of his senior season. He grabbed a share of fourth, shooting a career-best 54-hole score of six-under, 210, as he posted a one-under 71 in the final round. Fellow senior Juney Bai (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central) earned a top-10 finish, firing a total score three-under, 213 after his final round one-under 71. Freshman Ryan Andrews (Libertyville, Ill.-Libertyville) also garnered a spot in the top-10, the first of his young career, after his final round one-over 73. Andrew's 54-hole total of 214 was a career-best.

No. 6 Emory topped the team leaderboard, posting an impressive 30-under par total (834) for the tournament. No. 2 Carnegie Mellon came in second carding an 18-under par, 846. Illinois Wesleyan matched its round two score of six-under, 282, en route to their third-place finish, while the IWU 'B' squad came in fourth (862). Emory's Kevin Mu was the individual winner, carding a 12-under par in the 54-hole tournament.

Illinois Wesleyan wraps up the fall portion of its schedule at the Tartan Invitational Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 13-14, hosted by Carnegie Mellon University. The 54-hole tournament will be contested at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa. and will feature a strong field full of nationally ranked competition.
