BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The fifth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team wraps up the fall portion of its schedule Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 13-14, at the Tartan Invitational in Ligonier, Pa. Thirty-six holes will be contested on Monday at the par-72, 7022-yard Laurel Valley Golf Club, followed by Tuesday's 18-hole round.
The Titans are coming off a third-place finish at the Wabash Invitational, Oct. 6-7, at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis. IWU fell only to No. 1 ranked Emory and No. 4 Carnegie Mellon. Senior Aidan Healy (New Lenox, Ill.-Lincoln-Way West) led the way, shooting a six-under score of 210 to finish in a tie for third, earning his second top-three finish of the season.
Competing for Illinois Wesleyan will be Healy and fellow seniors Myles Lahart (Park Ridge, Ill.-Maine South) and Juney Bai (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central) as well as sophomores Pablo Castro (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) and Joey Sluzas (Lockport, Ill.-Lockport).
No. 5 IWU is one of 17 teams in the field that features nine of the top-10 teams in the country. The tournament includes No. 1 Emory, No. 2 Methodist, No. 3 Oglethorpe, No. 4 Carnegie Mellon, No. 6 Huntingdon, No. 7 Sewanee, No. 8 Washington & Lee, No. 10 Kenyon, No. 18 Lynchburg, No. 19 Guilford, No. 23 Rochester, Hampden-Sydney, Babson, Saint John's (Minn.), and Berry.
