LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams opened up the weekend with four Titans competing on day one of the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational Friday, Jan. 31 in Louisville, Ky. IWU returns to the University of Louisville's Norton Healthcare Sport and Learning Center Saturday, Feb. 1 for seven more events.

Competing in the men's open 800-meter, senior Ernie Waterson (Bloomington, Ill.-Cornerstone Christian Academy) turned in a time just shy of his indoor personal best, clocking in a 1:55.32 to finish 26th in the 64-person field. Waterson's mark ranks 14th in Division III this season.

In the women's open 800m, freshman Alex Reinhart (Normal, Ill.-Normal West) posted a personal-best effort of 2:19.44 to finish 26th out 51 competitors.

Junior CJ Ladewig (Palos Heights, Ill.-Stagg) produced a top-15 finish in the men's open weight throw on Friday, and was the only Division III competitor in the field. Ladewig's best toss of 16.69m (54'9.25") finished 12th out of 30 throwers. 

Senior Carlyssa King (Decatur, Ill.-Maroa-Forsyth), also the only Division III representative in the women's open weight throw, finished 19th overall with a 15.92m (52'2.75") throw.

Sophomore Reece Dusek (Peoria, Ill.-Dunlap) raced his first open 400m Friday night posting a finishing time of 50.81 to place 26th out of 47 competitors.

Illinois Wesleyan will compete in seven events on day two of the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational, Saturday, Feb. 1.
